Journey between the capital of Perth, the World Heritage Site of Ningaloo Reef, and the award-winning wine region of Margaret River for a perfect introduction to Western Australia.

Itinerary & Adventure Highlights

Day 1: Welcome to Perth

On arrival in Perth, transfer to your accommodation and settle in for a few glorious days in Australia’s sunniest capital city. Depending upon your arrival time, you may wish to take an afternoon walking tour of Perth’s laneways and arcades or take a cruise along the Swan River between Perth and Fremantle.

3 nights Perth

Day 2: Rottnest Island

Today you will take the Rottnest Express, a 30-minute ferry ride from Fremantle to Rottnest Island. Rottnest Island is home to the world’s happiest creature, the quokka. In addition to taking the popular “quokka selfie,” you can spend the day walking the beaches and trails, snorkeling and biking.

Day 3: Pinnacles, Wildlife and Sand Boarding

This morning you will depart on a full day tour where you will explore the Pinnacles Desert. Highlights include Caversham Wildlife Park and the chance to see Australia’s marsupials and indigenous wildlife before heading to the Pinnacles Desert for a walk and sand boarding on the stark white sand dunes.

Day 4: Perth to Exmouth

Transfer to the Perth airport for your flight to Exmouth/Learmonth. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation and base for your Ningaloo Reef marine adventures. Ningaloo is one of the world’s most pristine reefs, known for snorkeling with whale sharks and humpback whales. For a truly special luxury safari-style camp experience, we can arrange your stay at Sal Salis, one of our featured “Secluded Luxury” properties.

3 nights Exmouth / Ningaloo

Day 5: Exmouth

Prepare yourself for an awe-inspiring experience! Enjoy a full day on the water in the company of a marine biologist, seeking out the whale sharks, the biggest fish in the sea. With nature’s cooperation, during late March – early August, you’ll have an opportunity to swim with these majestic creatures.

Between August-October pods of humpback whales and their playful calves make Ningaloo their home. If an in-water experience with either of these gentle giants is on your bucket list, Ningaloo is the place!

Day 6: Exmouth

Enjoy another day on the water, snorkeling or diving…there is much more marine life to see, including manta rays, humpbacks, dugongs, and dolphins. If you are ready for a land-based activity today, head out on a 4WD safari to Cape Range National Park. This tour showcases the area’s natural beauty, including rugged canyons and beautiful beaches. You’ll enjoy a boat cruise on Yardie Creek and snorkeling at Turquoise Bay. After a full day of the great outdoors, return to your accommodation.

Day 7: Exmouth to Margaret River

Transfer to the Exmouth/Learmonth airport for your flight to Perth. From there, head approximately 3 hours south to Margaret River, known throughout the world for its top-quality wines and gourmet cuisine. In fact, world-class chefs journey to the region every November for the Western Australia Gourmet Escape festival, featuring foodie delights and award-winning wines. Prepare to be impressed by the surrounding landscape at every turn, including stunning coastline, vineyards and forested national parks.

3 nights Margaret River

Day 8: Margaret River

Today you will experience a unique and stunning side of the Margaret River area. Start with a tranquil canoe trip down the lush and beautiful Margaret River, savor a cup of coffee at an iconic surf spot, and sample local honey before settling down for lunch at the gorgeous Fraser Gallop Estate. Cap off the day with a 4WD adventure walk along a section of the Cape to Cape Track with undeniably epic scenery.

Day 9: Margaret River

This region merits another day of indulgence and culinary adventuring, with wine, cheese and chocolate on the agenda. A highlight of the day will undoubtedly be a visit to the Ngilgi Cave, where your guide will share Aboriginal legends and take you into the cave for a mesmerizing didgeridoo performance.

Or, you may even want to have your hotel pack a picnic lunch for you and hit the beach!

Day 10: Depart Perth

Transfer back to Perth for your onward flight. If time permits, stop for a charming 1.7-km train ride on the Busselton Jetty, and enjoy the expansive coastal views.
