Sailing the Tahitian Islands by Private Yacht

Private Yacht Adventure

There is no better way to explore these paradisiacal islands than by sea. On your private catamaran with an experienced crew, you will sail across the aquamarine waters of the island lagoons, explore Polynesian villages, and sample locally-grown island flavors. Spend your days swimming and snorkeling, and each evening dining with an unforgettable view!

We suggest a 3-night experience, and our favorite is the Iti Iti Raiatea to Bora Bora charter. Combined with 4 nights in an overwater bungalow on Bora Bora, it’s the perfect honeymoon or romantic experience.

Itinerary & Adventure Highlights

Day 1: Arrive Raiatea, board your private yacht and sail to Taha’a

You will be welcomed on arrival at Raiatea airport by a representative of the yacht company, and transferred to Apooiti Marina. Board the catamaran and meet your crew (skipper and cook), who will brief you on the program for your four days on board.

Settle in, it’s just a short one-hour sail across the lagoon, which is shared by the islands of Raiatea and Taha’a. En route, you will stop for some swimming, snorkeling and kayaking at Mahaea motu, which boasts of soft white sand beaches and calm aqua waters. In the afternoon, you will sail on to Tau Tau motu for walking, swimming and snorkeling through the coral garden, the most renowned snorkeling spot on Taha’a. This is a drift snorkel, with the current carrying you over colorful and preserved corals populated by schools of brightly-colored tropical fish.

Dinner is enjoyed on board the yacht. All meals and beverages served on board will be according to your personal preferences.

Day 2: Sailing from Taha’a to Bora Bora

The trip from Taha’a to Bora Bora today will take three to four hours. While sailing, try line-fishing before stopping for a lunch mooring at Toopua motu. After lunch, enjoy snorkeling, kayaking and swimming in the crystal blue waters.

Arrive at Bora Bora’s Vaitape village, and meander the streets lined with local shops, banks, restaurants, and other services. This evening, return to your yacht for dinner and star gazing.

Day 3: Bora Bora Lagoon

Sail through Bora Bora’s pristine lagoon today, enjoying lunch on board the yacht and luxuriating in the complete relaxation of the islands.  This afternoon, visit the Lagoonarium to watch sharks and manta rays being fed. The Lagoonarium is a natural aquarium where the marine life thrives in a small area of the lagoon, and is under the supervision of wildlife guides.

While on Bora Bora, dinner at the famous Bloody Mary’s restaurant a must, and is conveniently located near tonight’s mooring.

Day 4: Disembark in Bora Bora

The adventure has sadly come to an end, but enjoy the next chapter of your time in French Polynesia before returning home.
