Day 1: Arrive Auckland

On arrival in Auckland, transfer to your centrally located hotel. Or if you’d like to head off the beaten path immediately, spend your first two nights on the island of Waiheke, just a short ferry or helicopter ride from Auckland city.

Day 2: Auckland – Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island is an island paradise, best known for its sprawling vineyards and wine tasting, but the pristine beaches and rolling countryside invite exploration and adventure. Whether you’re wandering about the island on foot or by bike, kayaking along the shores, getting your adrenaline hit on the zipline, trying your skills at archery, or just admiring the island artisan scene, you’ll find yourself reveling in the peace, tranquility and beauty of this special place.

Day 3: Auckland to Rotorua

Today, you’ll transfer to Rotorua via either a short flight or a scenic drive through the vibrant farmland of the North Island. The Rotorua area is a unique hub of culture, geothermal activity, dense redwood forest, rushing rivers and sprawling lakes. The varied landscape and multitude of experiences available here is truly impressive. An evening “hangi” feast is the perfect introduction to the rich traditions of the Maori culture.

This is the perfect opportunity to luxuriate in a special lakefront setting at Solitaire Lodge, just 20 minutes from Rotorua.

Day 4: Rotorua – Geothermal Spa

If your desire is to relax and be pampered on your honeymoon, the hot springs, mud pools, and spa experiences will take you to a heightened state of pure bliss! For a little dose of nature and luxury, indulge in a scenic helicopter ride or a gorgeous waterfall hike.

Day 5: Rotorua – Adventure

Today is the day for adventure and exploration! Whether you choose to mountain bike through the lush forest, enjoy a serene kayak on the lake, raft one of the many rapids, walk the suspension bridges or zipline through the redwood canopy, try your hand at fishing, or even venture out of town to the charming site of Hobbiton, you will fall in love with this North Island playground.

Day 6: Rotorua to Wanaka

Transfer to the airport for your flights to Queenstown on the South Island. On arrival, you’ll escape the bustle of Queenstown, and head to the tranquil and gorgeous town of Wanaka, only an hour by car or a short 10-minute helicopter flight.

For your final stay in New Zealand, Mahu Whenua is the ultimate countryside experience, with luxurious suites and majestic scenery as far as the eye can see.

Day 7: Wanaka – Helicopter Adventure

Wanaka is the ideal location to truly decompress and embrace the stunning beauty of New Zealand. The best way to see this region is from above, on a scenic helicopter flight that will take your breath away. The heli may deliver you to a mountain top for a gourmet picnic with local Central Otago wine, or maybe you prefer to land on a glacier with jaw-dropping 360-degree views, and then fly the length of the massive Milford Sound. At the end of your day, immerse yourself in the peaceful ambiance of this little slice of heaven.

Day 8: Wanaka – 4WD, Hike and Bike

Today is all about the land, as you head to a remote homestead for a backcountry farm experience. The area is laced with lovely hiking and biking trails, and you can choose your perfect picnic spot beside a picturesque lake or bubbling stream. For a more adventurous day of hiking, travel by luxury 4WD into Mt Aspiring National Park, where you’ll marvel at dramatic waterfalls and glaciers, and have the opportunity to cross a traditional swing bridge

Day 9: Wanaka – Wilderness Jetboat

A visit to this area is not complete without an exhilarating jetboat ride along a pristine river into the New Zealand wilderness, with towering mountain peaks as your constant companions. Step off the jetboat for a nature walk through ancient forest, with tumbling waterfalls as your soundtrack. Your charismatic local guide will enhance your day with insights about the people, culture and land. Return to Wanaka for your final evening in Aotearoa, the “Land of the Long White Cloud.”

Day 10: Depart Wanaka

Transfer to the Queenstown airport for your onward flight.
