Active adventures abound, so bring your sense of adventure, and take a step back in time as the Faroe Islanders welcome you to their home!

Itinerary & Adventure Highlights

Day 1: Arrive Tórshavn

The Faroe Islands are accessible via flights from Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Bergen and Reykjavik. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and be immersed in Faroe Island discovery! Your first stop is Gásadalur, the most photographed village in the Faroe Islands. This village, which was previously difficult to reach, became accessible in 2004 when a tunnel was carved through the mountains, connecting locals to the main road network of the island. Gásadalur is where you will find the iconic Mulafossur waterfall. If you are a hiking enthusiast, you may want to add a day to hike the “Old Postman’s Trail” with a local guide.

Continue to Vestmanna for a private boat tour to the Vestmanna Bird Cliffs. Cruise through narrow sounds into deep grottoes, which were carved by the surf though the ages. Travel along sheer cliffs, where thousands of seabirds are nesting, and keep your eye out for puffins, razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes, gannets and fulmars. After your local cruise, check into your hotel.

The best way to experience a new culture is to integrate with the locals. Tonight, enjoy a Heimablídni, translated as “home hospitality,” where you will be invited to dinner with a family and experience local food and traditions.

4 nights Tórshavn

Day 2: Paradise of Birds

After breakfast, depart with your private guide for the “Paradise of Birds” known as Mykines, the westernmost area of the Faroe Islands and home to large breeding colonies of puffins. This is one of the few places on earth where you may get relatively up close and personal with these cuties.

You will also enjoy a guided walk to Mykineshólmur Lighthouse, via a wooden suspension bridge over a 35-meter-deep gorge, for stunning views. Return to Tórshavn for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Legendary Villages

This morning, depart for a full-day exploration to some of the most remote and legendary villages of the Faroe Islands, including Kirkjubøur, which is the Faroe Islands’ most important historical site. The town is home to churches and farmhouses built in the 11th and 12th centuries, and a large stone found near the village dates back to the Viking age. As your day continues with one stunning and historical village after another, amazing views exist at every turn.

You will enjoy dinner in the picturesque village of Gjógv, named after a 200-meter-long, sea-filled gorge that runs from the village into the ocean. After dinner, embark on an evening hike with your guide to one of the high peaks surrounding the village to admire the varied birdlife and enjoy the summer evening’s light.

Day 4: Fishing, Faroe Islands Style

Depart with your guide this morning, bound for the port of Vestmanna, where you will meet your fishing captain. Fishing in the Faroe Islands is extraordinary! The beautiful scenery and splendid tranquility make this day of angling unlike anything you have experienced before. Up to ten different species are available to catch, including halibut if you’re lucky. Dinner may be provided by your fishing success tonight!

Day 5: Góða ferð (Bon Voyage)

Today you say farewell to the Faroe Islands, and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
