Itinerary & Adventure Highlights

Day 1: Welcome to Anchorage Alaska

On arrival in Anchorage, meet your transfer and head to the Kenai Riverside Lodge, on the upper banks of the Kenai River. Check into your cabin and enjoy a gourmet dinner at the lodge. Tonight you’ll have the opportunity to discuss the upcoming days and the amazing activities that you’ll be able to share with the guides who know this area so well.

Day 2: Rafting the Kenai River

Prepare for a unique expedition today, as you’ll be rafting to your next adventure location on the turquoise waters of the beautiful Kenai River. Your destination is the Kenai Backcountry Lodge, where you will spend the next two nights.

Truly an unspoiled journey into the wilderness, the route takes you to an area of Alaska that few visitors will see. The first part of the day is a float trip, as you keep an eye out for wildlife. After enjoying a picnic lunch in the great outdoors, head into some exhilarating Class II+ waters through the Kenai Canyon. Before arriving at the lodge, you’ll cruise along the shores of a pristine glacier-carved lake. Indulge in a scrumptious dinner at the lodge tonight and then snuggle into your accommodations, complete with down comforters and propane heat and light.

Day 3: Kenai Backcountry Adventures

After breakfast, choose your adventure for the day. Perhaps join a guided hike through the lush forest to an alpine tundra with sweeping views, or paddle a sea kayak across a sparkling glacial lake. Be on the lookout for resident moose, bear, caribou, and local birdlife. Later today, take a daring dip in the lake, followed by a relaxing visit to the wood-fired sauna. Appetizers are served on the shore of the lake prior to a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Chugach National Forest

Farewell to the Kenai Backcountry Lodge, as you return across the lake bound for Kenai Riverside Lodge. This afternoon, choose from a hike through the Chugach National Forest or the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Perhaps your guide can lead you on a scenic hike to Russian River Falls to watch salmon swim upstream or in search of gorgeous alpine meadows frequented by local wildlife. Relax this evening on the riverside deck before another delectable dinner.

Day 5: Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge

Today, travel through the Chugach National Forest to the picture-perfect town of Seward, located at the head of Resurrection Bay. A custom catamaran takes you to Kenai Fjords National Park, boasting many glaciers and wildlife such as whales, sea lions, sea otters, and puffins! Explore the coastline and stop for a scenic lunch before arriving at the exclusive Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, the only lodge within the national park. From the comfort of your cozy log cabin, marvel at the view of the sheltered lagoon and majestic Pedersen Glacier. After touring the property with your local guides, settle in for another gourmet meal and a peaceful night in this serene wilderness setting.

Day 6: Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge

So many choices for today’s adventure, depending on your energy level and interests. Guided nature walks, kayaking, canoeing, and coastal exploration are all on the menu. The day is also open for a slow pace and relaxation, should you choose to enjoy a casual walk on the beach or browse the library and learn about the abundant nature in this stunning location.

Day 7: Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge to Anchorage

You’ll have time to venture out for a final morning adventure via canoe or kayak before you depart midday. The adventure and magic of Alaska continue on your journey, as you cruise back to Seward amongst the wildlife, and finally board a historic train back to Anchorage, concluding this epic Alaskan experience.
