Located in the remote area of Western Australia’s Cape Grange National Park, Sal Salis is a perfect place to relax and disconnect. Consisting of 15 eco-luxe safari tents, the lodge is only meters from shore separating the sand dunes from the crystal blue waters of the famous Ningaloo Reef.

Here you can enjoy the best of both the outback and the Coral Coast. Explore the canyons, gorges and limestone rocks while searching for red kangaroos and emus, or head to shore to spot the abundant marine life that migrates through the Ningaloo Marine Park each year including humpback whales, orcas, mantas, turtles, and dolphins.

One of the most famous activities along the reef is swimming with the whale sharks, which can be done between mid-March and mid-July.

*The tents are situated just 50 meters back from the beach amongst the low-lying coastal dunes.

Location and Logistics

Located on the Northwest Cape, the nearest commercial airport to Sal Salis is Exmouth’s Learmonth Airport. Flights to Exmouth are scheduled daily from Perth. Transfers provided to and from Learmonth Airport via private car, scenic flight, or chartered aircraft.

Self-drive: Sal Salis is an hour’s drive (70kms) south of Exmouth, in the Cape Range National Park, which is 14 hours from Perth via Route 1.

What To Know

Sal Salis is closed from mid-November to mid-March.

There is a ‘no drive after dark’ policy within the Cape Range National Park due to the high number of animals on the road during this time.

It is important to know that while each tent has a light, and a USB phone charger (note there is no phone reception in camp) there are no power points available in them. Cameras and laptops can be recharged in the main lodge area.
