Day 1: Arrive Launceston

Upon arrival in Launceston, transfer to the Josef Chromy Wine Estate for lunch and wine tastings, a perfect start to your Tasmania adventure. Continue on to your accommodation in the Launceston area, your base for the next two nights. The city of Launceston shows off its historic style through the elegant Colonial and Victorian architecture and century-old parks, while the Tamar River winds through a premium wine-growing region, past forested hills and farmland, lavender fields, vineyards, orchards and pretty riverside towns.

Day 2: Launceston

So much to choose from today, depending on your interests. Some favorite options include: Exploring the Cradle to Coast Tasting Trail,  Tamar Valley gourmet food and wine tour, ziplining, hot air ballooning, a Little Blue Penguin tour at Low Head, Tamar River Cruise with Cataract Gorge, golfing, fly fishing, glow worm caves, and much more.

Day 3: Launceston to Cradle Mountain

Begin to make your way to Cradle Mountain, approximately 2 hours driving time. You may wish to stop along the way at Liffey Falls Reserve for hike (about an hour each way), or at one of the many artisan farms like Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, 41 South Tasmania (salmon and ginseng farm), or Ashgrove Cheese. You will spend two nights in the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park amidst awe-inspiring wilderness and dramatic mountain landscapes.

Day 4: Cradle Mountain

You have a number of activity options available today, including easy walking around Dove Lake or more adventurous hiking, canoeing, wine and cheese tasting, fly fishing, and wildlife viewing. A visit to Tasmania would not be complete without visiting the Tasmania Devil sanctuary and spending a little time with the adorably ferocious Tasmanian Devil. At Cradle Mountain, the outdoors is your ultimate playground!

Day 5: Cradle Mountain to Freycinet

Today, enjoy a scenic 4-hour drive to the Freycinet Peninsula, enjoying leisurely stops for lunch and scenery along the way. Arriving at the Freycinet Peninsula is breathtaking, with world-class scenery that showcases pristine turquoise waters, white sand beaches and pink granite mountains.

Day 6: Freycinet

Today, delight in all that the Freycinet area has to offer! Some of the many options include: walking and hiking, sea kayaking, cycling, quad biking, a Wineglass Bay Cruise, and even visiting a local oyster farm to sample the local delicacy fresh from the water. Or just relax and enjoy the natural grandeur of this area.

Day 7: Freycinet to Hobart

Enjoy a leisurely 2.5-hour drive to Hobart, or treat yourself to a scenic flight! The city of Hobart, nestled between rolling foothills and a picturesque waterfront, exudes both historic charm and modern entertainment at every turn. Some of the city highlights include the Salamanca Market (Saturdays only) and MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). This evening is the perfect opportunity to visit Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, just 30 minutes from Hobart, as their nighttime experiences feature the weird and wonderful creatures of Australia.

Day 8: Hobart

For your full day in Hobart, you may wish to visit the fascinating Port Arthur Historic Site; venture to Maria Island to enjoy the native wildlife, white sand beaches and natural beauty; or hop onboard a Bruny Island cruise to witness the sea cliffs and caves, and multitude of coastal and marine wildlife. A highlight for seafood lovers is the “Seafood Seduction” cruise, which features oysters shucked straight from the water, rock lobster, abalone and sea urchin, all fresh-caught and prepared by your expert guide!

Day 9: Depart Hobart

Transfer to the Hobart airport for your onward flight.
